Retro-commissioning service provider, Strategic Building Solutions, identified more than 55 energy conservation measures, helping Hines Interests to realize an annual savings of nearly three million kWH. Hines undertook an extensive program that incorporated: the installation of new dampers; a full-building lighting retrofit including the addition of occupancy light sensors; and the installation of variable frequency drives on the chilled water and condenser water pumps and cooling towers. In New York City, where commercial office properties are typically energy intensive due to data center needs, SBS is particularly proud to be part of Hines’ team.  We are pleased to share in the celebration of their ENERGY STAR label and the recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency of exemplary energy performance.
