SBS OWNER'S REP FOR ITS NEW CORPORATE HEADQUARTERSAugust 1, 2011
In August of 2011, Strategic Building Solutions occupied its new corporate headquarters at 135 New Road in Madison, Connecticut. The 15,000 square foot Class A office space includes an array of private offices, fixed workstations, conference rooms and support spaces, each carefully planned to provide the greatest flexibility, maximize efficiency and contain costs.
Major spatial elements incorporated into the building include a series of private perimeter offices with shared light into the general workspace, flexible workstations organized to facilitate team interaction and break out collaboration, a variety of conference spaces for small and large group meetings, and a specialized training room. These spaces are supported with production areas distributed throughout the building.
Additional design elements incorporated into the building include a new state of the art Voice Over IP (VOIP) teleconferencing system, a wireless IT network, videoconferencing capabilities, and integrated presentation capabilities within each conference space. Also, flat panel monitors are designed into specific spaces throughout the building to facilitiate larger small team meeting collaboration. The entire IT and telecommunications network is supported by a dedicated space with emergency power and air conditioning system.
As a leader in the provision of comprehensive project management services, SBS was eager to manage all aspects of this project including the original space programming; review of various building location options; negotiations of landlord and tenant fit out costs and scope; selection and management of designers; management of the space fit out; management of IT and telecommunications system design and installation; furniture analysis, selection and procurement; move management; and overall financial management.
