Bryant University
New Residence Hall & Suite Village Renovations
Smithfield, Rhode Island
Bryant University has undertaken an effort to significantly upgrade and renew its residential life accommodations. The initiative is aimed at supporting the institution's goal to position itself amongst the premier business schools in the northeast and attract more students to live on campus. The project has two major elements: a new residence hall and a two-phase renovation to a majority of the campus' existing housing structures. The new residence hall will be a 200 bed, five-story, block and plank, brick veneer suite style residence to be located in the heart of the existing residential area of campus. The two-phase renovation will run concurrent with this project and include nine (9) four-story dormitories known as the Residential Suite Village. Together, the initiative will touch more than 1,000 beds. Both projects are due to be completed by the Fall of 2007.
SBS is the Owner's Representative providing comprehensive Project Management services for the multi-phased project. In this capacity, SBS is directly responsible for the project planning, budgeting, design/construction oversight, move coordination and closeout of the project. In addition, SBS is working with Bryant University to standardize their Capital Program Reporting for Bryant University's Board of Trustees, and to develop a standardized financial system for tracking and reporting the financial status of all capital projects.
