Strategic Building Solutions was engaged to provide chiller plant survey and testing; an ASHRAE Level I Energy Audit; and to serve as LEED O&M consultant for the Market Square facility. The purpose of the ASHRAE audit was to assess the facility’s energy cost and efficiency by analyzing energy bills and conducting a brief on-site survey. The intent of a Level I Energy Audit is to identify and provide a savings and cost analysis of low-cost/no-cost measures. It also provided a listing of potential capital improvements to be considered by the facility owner.
Components of the ASHRAE Level I Energy Audit included: energy usage analysis and consumption for the prior three years; facility energy performance and building indexing; building documentation review and collection; building staff interviews; potential capital and low-cost facility improvements along with estimated initial cost and energy savings; facility walk-through survey summary analysis; and, Building Management System (BMS) assessment.
Market Square is a 14-story multi-structure facility consisting of two identical buildings interconnected by a common concourse level.
