SBS is proud to have participated in the Retro-Commissioning Pilot Project for the Connecticut Energy Conservation Fund. The intent of the pilot program was to identify and cost effectively implement electric and non-electric energy savings measures through the use of the Retro-commissioning process for several large Class A commercial office buildings in southwestern Connecticut. SBS was selected as the retro-commissioning provider for the pilot project at the Purdue Pharma, LP Corporate Headquarters located at One Stamford Forum in Stamford, Connecticut.
Purdue Pharma has a history of energy conservation efforts and has been an active participate in utility company sponsored energy conservation programs. Purdue's past energy conservation results have been very impressive, having achieved a 30% reduction in energy consumption immediately prior to the pilot program implementation. The goal of the retro-commissioning program at Purdue was to further reduce energy consumption while maintaining occupant comfort, amenities and Data Center reliability.
The One Stamford Forum facility is a large 1,000,000 plus gross square foot facility strategically located in downtown Stamford adjacent to Interstate 95. The facility has 529,000gsf of class A office space, including a 6,000gsf Data Center and a 577,000gsf parking garage.
The retro-commissioning pilot program undertaken at Purdue was a three phase process that included: 1) Scoping Phase, 2) Investigation Phase and 3) Implementation Phase. All major energy using systems including the heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting and Data Center were investigated as part of the comprehensive retro-commissioning pilot.
