Langone Medical Center - Multiple Projects
New York, New York
Since the fall of 2007, SBS has served as Commissioning Agent for a growing number of projects throughout New York University’s Langone Medical Center. SBS’ initial engagement involved the Medical Center’s renovation of 22,000 square feet of the historic Trinity Building in lower Manhattan, resulting in the construction of its Downtown Ambulatory Care Center.
As Commissioning Agent, SBS was involved throughout the project’s construction and acceptance phases. Comprehensive commissioning services included review of submittals, shop drawings and RFIs, development of a commissioning plan, weekly inspection/status reporting, systems performance assessment, as well as O&M operator training. During the Acceptance Phase, SBS provided verification of the accuracy of final testing, system compliance and performance, and supervised and observed functional performance testing of the facility’s heating, cooling, ventilation, chilled water systems, electrical, fire alarm, and fire protection systems.
Subsequent and current commissioning engagements at the Medical Center include:
- Berg Animal Facility
- Dermatopathology Lab
- HCC Building
- Smilow Research Center
